Extemporaneous Automatics is now available.

My book of collected short fiction is now available exclusively on my BandCamp site.

This release from Bipediment Publications is a compilation of remaining short stories I had written over the years as mental exercises and organizing of ideas. Most of these short stories, that I call automatics, sadly, did not survive the test of time, but, for the ones that did, they are presented to you within the pages of this book.

Automatics are just that; immediate, single thought ideas that are flushed out on the spot, until they feel complete. An automatic is complete when the original thought is satisfied. as one complete presentation. It’s a simple process, and not particularly original.

I have used the idea of automatics as mental exercise and as a form of improvisation with ideas. In fact, I have adopted some of the general concepts and “rules” into other disciplines; musical projects and solo performances.

Over the years, I have used various sets of strategic guidelines with the automatics, set up as compositional stipulations, to be used as stimulation hurdles or creative challenges, rather than conceptual flourishing. it makes them enjoyable to create.

It is a fun and provocative process and you are encouraged to try it out for yourself.
